Rex trained at The Gaiety School of Acting in their full time course (2013)
Rex is currently playing the title role of Hamlet in Peter Reid’s adaptation for AC Productions this April in The New Theatre.
He recently finished performing in a sell out run of Mark O’Rowe’s Made In China at The Viking
Previous Theatre credits include Port Authority by Conor McPherson for The Viking Theatre directed by Peter Reid, Hollow Ground directed by Karl Shiels for Theatre Upstairs, The Motherfucker With The Hat directed by Aoife Spillane Hinks for The New Theatre and The Circus of Perseverance written and directed by Philip Doherty at Smock Alley Theatre.
He received rave reviews for Pilgrim both in Dublin and Edinburgh and was nominated for Best Actor in the 2013 Dublin Fringe for his performance in The Birthday Man. Again both of these one man shows were written for Philip Doherty.
Film credits include Monged by Gary Duggan, commissioned by Film Base and the award winning short Solitaire by Gerard Walsh.
He has also worked in Radio Drama for Radio 1, Newstalk and 2fm.
Rex is the Artistic Director of The Corps Ensemble who are an acting ensemble company with a residency in The Viking Thteare Clontarf for 2016. Their inaugural production of Mark O’Rowe’s Made in China in February was a hit sell out run garnering rave reviews for the company and the performers.
